What's Included in a Professional Portrait Session?
What's Included in a Professional Portrait Session?
Most people have never had a professional portrait session. They imagine something stiff, staged, and uncomfortable. What they don't imagine is how different the experience actually is when it's done right.
At Dynamic Innovations Media Group, a portrait session is not a transaction. It's a collaboration — built around your vision, your comfort, and the goal of showing you exactly how beautiful you already are. Here's everything that goes into one.
More Than Just a Photoshoot
Before we talk about what's included, let's talk about what separates a professional portrait session from a chain studio or budget photographer.
We have the flexibility and convenience of shooting anywhere, anytime, any location. The possibilities are endless. The execution is flawless. A chain studio gives you a backdrop and a time slot. We give you all of South Florida — crafted around your story.

The Pre-Session Consultation
Here's where most photographers skip a step that makes all the difference. Before every portrait session, we sit down with our clients and go over their vision and the goal of what they hope to accomplish. We make suggestions and recommendations based on their session type, style, and personality.
We scout and vet locations in advance and brief clients on exactly what to expect — so they arrive prepared and confident, not anxious and guessing. That pre-session process alone sets the tone for everything that follows.
The #1 Mistake That Kills Great Photos Before the Session Starts
In years of shooting portraits across South Florida, here's one of the most common mistakes we see — and it happens before the camera is even turned on.
Match instead of coordinate — and wear distracting patterns and textures. When a family shows up in identical outfits or a client wears a busy floral print, it pulls the eye away from what matters: faces, expressions, and connection. Coordinated colors in complementary tones always photograph better than matching. Simple, solid fabrics always outperform loud patterns. When in doubt, go classic.
Making You Feel Like Yourself
The number one thing people say before a portrait session is "I'm not photogenic." We hear it constantly. And we've made it our mission to prove every single one of them wrong.
Our approach centers on two things: affirmation and real-time feedback. We affirm you throughout the session and show you the photos as we take them. When you can see yourself the way the camera sees you — beautifully lit, naturally posed, genuinely captured — something shifts. The nervousness fades. The stiffness disappears. And the photos get better with every frame.
We had a client who came in for her birthday shoot convinced she wasn't photogenic. She was nervous, hesitant, and ready to get it over with. We set out with one goal: prove her wrong. We kept things simple, chose elegant poses, built her comfort shot by shot, and showed her the images as they came. By the end of the session, when she saw the final results — she was absolutely ecstatic. She didn't recognize the version of herself she saw — not because we changed her, but because we showed her what was already there.
True connection and emotion look better than a flawless, sterile image. Seeing beautiful images of yourself builds lasting self-esteem.
South Florida's Best Portrait Locations
One of the biggest advantages of working with Dynamic IMG is location flexibility. We don't have a studio you have to come to — we bring the studio to you, or to wherever the story calls for.
For engagement sessions, we love the lush, romantic settings of Vizcaya Museum & Gardens and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. For lifestyle and portrait sessions, we gravitate toward the energy of Wynwood, the Miami Art District, and Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
What makes a location great for photography isn't just how it looks in person — it's how it holds light, how it frames the subject, and whether it tells a story. We scout every location before the session so we already know the best spots, angles, and times before you arrive.
Editing, Gallery & Delivery
After every shoot, we send clients a sneak peek of select images in their online digital gallery — because the anticipation shouldn't last too long.
For the full gallery, we take a client-centered approach: rather than choosing every image ourselves, we believe you should choose the photos that resonate with you most — and we professionally edit those to perfection. Our editing process includes skin softening, blemish removal, and the application of custom filters that maintain a consistent, polished aesthetic. We enhance. We don't alter. The goal is always the best version of you.
What's Always Included
You will never look back at photos and wish you waited.
